Event Highlights

This page highlights our monthly events and experiences, capturing moments of leadership, service, family engagement, and connection throughout the year. Together, these meaningful experiences strengthen our community and bring our mission to life.

Living History 2026: Beacons of Hope

Our teens took center stage at the 21st Annual Living History Awards Program and Reception, honoring Phoenix leaders whose courage, leadership, and advocacy continue to shape our community and preserve the values of justice, democracy, and civil rights.

Held on February 28 at the KROC Center, this year’s program was centered around the theme, “Beacons of Hope: Leading the Charge to Preserve Our Democracy and Civil Rights.” Through months of preparation, our teens engaged in research, conducted interviews, and delivered powerful presentations that highlighted the lasting impact of each honoree.

This year, we proudly recognized:

  • Center for the Study of Race and Democracy

  • Jocquese Blackwell, Esq.

  • Dr. Reginald Bolding

  • Dr. Judy Greene

  • Councilman Kevin Robinson

  • Mayor Corey Woods

  • National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Phoenix Chapter

The program was hosted in partnership with the Phoenix Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, the Phoenix Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, and the Gamma Mu Boulé of Phoenix of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Inc., reflecting a shared commitment to leadership, service, and community impact.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our tri-chairs, mentors, and teens for their leadership and dedication throughout this journey. Over several months, mentors worked closely with our teens—guiding, encouraging, and preparing them to bring this program to life.

The result was a powerful and inspiring experience that not only honored distinguished leaders, but also showcased the strength of mentorship and the importance of investing in the next generation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating leadership, legacy, and the future of our community.

Youth Day 2026 – Arizona African American Legislative Conference

Our Phoenix, Sun Valley, and Tucson teens represented their chapters with excellence during Youth Day at the 24th Annual Arizona African American Legislative Conference.

From leading the Pledge of Allegiance on the Senate floor to participating in a mock legislative session, our youth gained hands-on experience in civic engagement while connecting with hundreds of peers from across the state.

Experience the energy and impact of the day in the recap video below.

Founders' Day Celebration

On January 25, our chapter gathered to celebrate Founders’ Day, honoring the vision, leadership, and legacy of our founders. This year’s theme, African Diaspora: It Takes a Village, highlighted the strength of community and the power of sisterhood across generations.

Through fellowship and reflection, we honored our history and the Associate jewels who laid the foundation for the village we continue to build for our families and children. This meaningful celebration reminded us of who we are, whose we are, and the generations we uplift through purpose, love, and tradition.
